| Descripción | Die Kalkarer Mühle am Hanselaerer Tor ist eine Gallerie-Holländermühle und wie die im Norden angrenzende Scheune und das im Süden angrenzende Wohnhaus ein Backsteinbau. Mit einem unteren Umfang von fast 35 m, rund ein Meter dicken Wänden und einer Höhe von mehr als 27 m (ohne Flügel) gilt sie als die größte Mühle am Niederrhein. Mit neuen Flügeln und zwei neuen Mahlwerken ist die Mühle heute wieder voll funktionsfähig. Regelmäßig wird hier Korn gemahlen und im 1996 neu errichteten Backhaus auf dem Mühlengelände zu Brot gebacken. In der ehemaligen Scheune befindet sich eine Gaststätte, die neben einer hervorragenden Küche auch Bier aus der eigenen Brauerei bietet. |
