Descripción |
Split-anode experimental magnetron, transit-time type. Internal resonating lines and stabilizing electrodes. 10 cm approximate oscillation frequency.
Difficult to date this magnetron. Its structure, with stabilizing end plates, was described by E.G. Linder of RCA in Proceedings of IRE, Volume 24, Issue 4, April 1936. Its successor, A-103B was registered as 2J35 only in the middle of the war, in December 1943.
What applications this 3 GHz fixed frequency magnetron was intended for is another unsolved question. Probably proposed as local oscillator for 10-cm receivers. Here its typical operation values from the 2J35 datasheet.
- 1000 V plate voltage at 4 mA
- 650 V stabilizing electrode voltage at 10 mA
- 1300 gauss magnetic field
- 1 W output power at 10-cm approx.
- 1.8 V filament voltage, adjusted for optimum performance
