  • The radio model "Standardyne Multivalve" by Standard Radio Corporation, MA, is one of the very few models using the "Multivalve" tube, a triple triode with a common filament (actually three filaments in series). An other was the model "Baby Emerson Loud Speaker Set", made by Clapp-Eastham. The year 1925 is found in several literature - but there is no evidence of existance of the tube at that time! Even 1926 might be too early. The model uses two variable condensers for tuning plus a filament rheostat. The tube works as an RF amplifier, detector and AF amplifier.
    The case size is taken from the base, followed by a sloping front panel.
    Using a reflex circuit, the model Standardyne Multivalve Radio has even 4 tube functions. By the way: In Germany Loewe made a triple triode with integrated coupling devices to form a complete radio circuitry (eccept tuning devices) in 1926 which had a great success.
