The tape counter does not work. I checked the rubber and it is good, it connects a pair of pulleys that are not connected to anything movable; hence they don't move and the counter does not count. Any hint?

Hello Jorge,

maybe the following picture from

www .vintageshifi. com/repertoire-pdf/pdf/telecharge.php?pdf=Akai-GX-600-D-Service-Manual.pdf (remove blanks!)

helps. There should be a second rubber belt on the bottom side:

Best regards

Giovanni

Thank you Giovanni; your picture is very clear. I'll have to remove the front of the deck. Best regards, Jorge

Hi Giovanni. I removed the side panel and the plate of the left motor. That was enough to replace the rubber. Many thanks for the diagram you sent me, it was a real help. The counter is working fine now. Sincerely, Jorge
