Hi There.. Looking for help to identify a large valve approx 31 cm tall. It has literally no markings appart from a felt pen marked '2 VE' which is marked in two different locations. I bought this untested and unknown and I think a faint area of getter is white, which is a shame. To me it looks quite modern in construction considering some of it is chrome plated. 4 pins on the bottom and 2 on the top.

This was bought simply becuase it is a large tube and I love large tubes but it would be great to know more about it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Max,

This tube has a little chance to identify. According the pictures, my tip is double triode. Two anode contact on the top. Is the tube heater ok? If yes, you can try to identify the heater voltage. Just heat it to cherry red. What is the heater volage and current?

Hi Ottó...

Thank you so much for taking the time to consider the tube and give some best guesses. I think the tube might be open, so would not be able to test, not overlooking the fact that I am a complete novice and do not have the skills :-).

I do have quite a collection which i will continue to upload to this site though so thought it was worth trying to identify it and add it to the records.

Thanks again though Ottó!
