My HP 8558B/182T lost horizontal sweep, using the external sweep  works, but not synchronously, of course.

I ask the experts acquainted with HP equipment, the horizontal  sweep is generated internally on the HP 182T or comes from the 8558B module, which I think is the case, and then I'm afraid to re-stir this technology monster.

PS: I accept PDf's or buy original paper manuals on HP182T.

Best Regards

Hello,

the sweep is generated on A8 bord inside the 8558. Repair without

having extenders (see manual) is nearly impossible, but check for

shorted Tantals first.

Hi Werner,

I do not have extenders, yes I will check all the capacitors of the A8 module first.

In times I tried to get an extender or make one for 8558B, but as it was not accessible, and as I didn't need it much, I didn't go ahead with the project.

Thankful for your information.

Best Regards

Hi Hans Werner,

I am working on the case again , what i found was the fingers of the switches loose , nothing new , i have already gone through that and used aralditte to fix them ,but it does not work for a long time, I am using mechanical fixation , I hope to reassemble everything in the first form correctly, once the first time...

Best Regards

HC
