? korting: Can't get the 6 MHz frequency aligned. Ideas needed.
I am having difficulty getting the 6 MHz coil slug adjusted for the K1 SW band. 12 MHz trimmer cap adjusts just fine. But the 6 MHz slug can be pulled out of the coil but the oscillator is still running too low. I have cleaned this coil of all dirt and contaminants.
Are theses coil forms or wire insulation subject to deterioration? I have disassembled and cleaned the Oscillator section and switches a few times. Insured there were no visible damages to the oscillator coil. I changed the oscillator 50 pf (was 62pf) grid capacitor and the G2 to cathode 500pf (was 637 pf) capacitor.
I even tried to align the SW at 12 MHz minus IF but the trimmers did not cover that range.
I am open to any suggestion.

SW Align is wrong
Hello Paul.
It is not a miracle that you can not adjust the radio.
The radio has Long Wave, Medium Wave and two SW- Ranges.
SW- Range 1, KW 1 (2) goes from 3,529 Mcs to 12,00 Mcs
(85 to 25 meters)
SW- Range 2, KW 2 (1) goes from 11,11 Mcs to 23,076 Mcs.
(27 to 13 meters)
The IF is 468Kcs
The adjustment must only be done on KW 1 (2) with the Coil at 3,529 Mcs and with the Trimmer at 12,00 Mcs.
On KW 2 (1) the second Harmonics of the oscillator is used. the Range turns out automatically without adjustment.
All German adjust planes are wrong!
EDIT. maybe the Number SW 1 und SW 2 ist different. I to not know the Radio.
Edit #2
The shortwave ranges from Katalog VDRG 1936 are not realisitic.
please use the Version V2a with the begin with 65 meters not 85 meters

SW alignment K1 K2 bands.
Hans M. Knoll
I will try the 3.529 Mhz alignment point and ignore the Osc frequency. 3.592 is found on the K2 SW band. And you are correct, there is no separate alignment instruction.
The alignment instruction has two points that are found on the K1 band 12 MHz and 6 MHZ. But I will give 3.529 a try.
The last and final attempt to fix this is replace the CK1 converter tube. But I must find one first. Perhaps at the Kutztown PA Radio Meet this weekend. And I would hope to find some sockets since none of my tube testers have those type of sockets and contacts.
There are also two other coil slugs (in the middle shielded box) that are NOT referenced in the alignment instructions. I believe they are for the MW (broadcast band) 600 khz.
Thanks,
Paul.
