I receive a email asking me to identify a Loewe Opta model.
I've made a research at RMORG archives to this brand with no satisfatory results.
So, I'll attach some pictures in order to someone give me a clue about.
Thank you,
Meyer

Bom dia Meyer,

when in the main form you type in "Loewe" in the 'manufacturer' field, enter 1930 and 1935 as year delimiters and check the box for photo galleries, you should be able to locate the model on the second page of the search results.

So, one possible match would be http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/loewe_opta_vineta_wl.html.

Hope that helps, and have a good start into 2007.

Até,
Mark

hi meyer, very nice little set , have to say i ve no knowledge of this model or set , but if u supply more details to the forum , someone will surely recognise  it .

for instance , the valve set up , i see there are 5 , details please , notice one has only a base , ,rectifier valve perhaps? can u verify country of origin , is there a plate anywhere on the chasis or underneath , or on the back [ inside] , with serial no or model no  or name , examine parts for manufacturers names etc , all these specs will help us identify same , i notice also a knob missing , good luck with it , and get back with as much detail as u can , regards maitiu.

Oi Meyer,

if the identification really is positive (try to match the schematic, not only the cabinet!) it would be great if you could upload the additional pictures to the model.

Glad to help!

Regards,
Mark

hi meyer, with respect , and from the rearview of the model picture that u up loaded , in my humble opinion is not the model mark sugests, and in fairness to him his last reply warns u not to go by the cabinet alone , the set that u show resembles the philips layout of the early 30s, especially the large cans , on the chasis that resemble bean ca ns , these contain meters of three core copper wire , and the system is known as super induction and not super het as stated on the model page , philips developed this system and stuck with it up to the late 30s , sugest u checkout the other similar versions , with the same cabinet , respectfully yours maitiu.

Dear Meyer,

it is definitely a Loewe Vineta WL. This Model is quite rare. Unfortunately it is obviously missing the Oscillator/Mixer valve 2HMD which is very rare here in Germany. The valve has only been produced by Loewe for a short period.

The big cans contain the IF and HF filters. At that time (1932/33) superhets in Germany use quite big coils in their IF stages as well HF stages so cans have been quite big. Quite often the used ceramic adjustment condensers in the filters lost their capacity. They can be repaired using silver laquer.

Best regards

Rüdiger Walz
