Hello,

One of my woofers (the one with the tweeter co-axially mounted) has stopped working. It sounded as if it were rubbing, but now is not working at all. It may be shorting in the gap.

I had not played the radio for a long time, and this just started happening spontaneously. The speakers were not abused by playing very loud.

Is there a way of removing the magnet and re-centering it? Or, if necessary, of repairing the voice coil?

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Mark

Hi, Mark,

there may be several Reasons for the Speaker not working normally. Hopefully the Radio has been stored in a dry Envoirment.

These Saba Speakers can be recentered. The Magnet will not be removed or moved during this Procedure. Instead, if You see the Speaker from back, there are 2 Slit Screws on the Speaker Chassis next to the Magnet, one on either side. They hold the Centering Mechanism in place. You need to loosen these screws a little bit, and then trying to move the Centering Mechanism to have the Coil in the middle of the Magnets Slit. if this can be adjusted You can tighten the screw. That schould do it.

Hope this helps,

Best Regards,

Henning
