Hi All,

I have a strange tube. The sign says PX1120 Tungsram barium tube. But it has 3 pin europe base.

According RMORG the Tungsram PX1120 is a vacuum triode with UX 4pin base. So something is wrong.

Anyway the structure looks more complex than a single wawe rectifier.

The base loooks original.

Does anybody have idea what it could be?

Otto

Hello Ottó,

according to its internal structure this tube rather appears to be a triode then a rectifier diode.
The name seems to correspond to the content.

However the base looks to be fake.

Someone must have changed the base of this tube to convert a triode into a half wave rectifier as remnants of glue between the glas bulb and the bakelite base are visible.

Jacob
