yamaha: Yamaha R-700 not locking onto stations

HI,

I have an R-700 that has a nice sound, but the tuner section refuses to lock onto a strong station, or any station, for that matter. I have trouble shot, & recapped leaky electrilytics, but have not zeroed in on the non lock issue.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :)

Is the non-lock problem there on both AM and FM, or on just one of the bands?

hi, the problem is on both AM & FM. it just scans past strong stations, with the signal strength maxing & the stereo pilot lamp flashing as it goes by....
