  • Acoustic Research held a patent on acoustic suspension speaker systems (US 3,033,945).  AR tried to produce a speaker sysem with the greatest accuracy possible. 

    According to the review in 9-1970 High Fidelity, it is a three -way reproducer containing a 10-inch acoustic suspension woofer, a 3.5-inch midrange unit, and a 1.375-inch hemispherical dome tweeter.
