  • Model 3040K. Functionally designed and magnificently engineered. A convincing example of Allied hi-fi leadership that achieves new goals in bringing you a neat, space-saving cabinet and full range hi-fi reproduction, all at a modest price. System features three perfectly balanced speakers, a precision-tuned port, and acoustically balanced enclosure—all critically tuned like a fine musical instrument that pours out life-like hi-fi sound. King-size 12" woofer has a husky 2-pound magnet structure, coupled to a 1-inch voice coil that delivers full-throated bass response as deep as 45 Hz without strident sound or "booming" effect.

Efficient 6" cone-type speaker with 3¼-ounce Alnico V magnet structure and ⅝-inch voice coil delivers pure midrange sound between 2000 and 5000 Hz. Specially-designed 3½" cone tweeter with 2-ounce Alnico V magnet structure and ⅝-inch voice coil disperses clear, brilliant highs up to 16,500 Hz over the widest possible area for a truly "big" hi-fi sound. Capacitor-type electrical crossover divides the audio spectrum at 2000 and 5000 Hz. High-frequency level control at rear of cabinet adjusts treble response to suit room acoustics and listening tastes.

Has ¾-inch wood enclosure with veneered walnut finish and beautiful sculptured molding. Assembly is accomplished in less than an hour—only a screwdriver is required. You merely follow the clearly illustrated instructions . . even the finishing oil is included for rubbing in handsome, professional-looking walnut finish.
