  • Notes
  • The Ameco Code Practice Oscillator was avallable either as a kit or wired, and either with or without tubes.   CPS-KL is the kit form less tubes at $11.95. CPS-WL is the wired form less tubes at $13.15. CPS-KT is the kit form with tubes at $13.75. CPS-WT is the wired form with tubes at $14.95.

Screw terminals for phones and key on rear side.

CAUTION: As wired, the device has line-derived high voltage on the key, thus is dangerous without modification.

The CAUTION warning applies to the gray "1957" version of the device.  Although the model numbers remain the same, the later (black color) version has a different circuit design for safety. That design is simply a free-running oscillator in which they code key is wired in series with the speaker and is therefore isolated from the power-line-derived B plus voltage.  The older (1957) version(s) can be modified to conform to the later and safer version of the schematic as uploaded to Rmorg.
