  • The market for this radio appears to have been farms with 32VDC power systems which were later to be ugraded to 110VAC power systems.  The 6 contact socket on the back of the radio provided connection to operate the tube filaments from 32VDC and connect a B+ supply which might have been a 90 to 135 volt dry battery or the 32VDC.  When 110VAC power became available, the 6 pin plug could be removed and the radio powered through an attached power cord.  The 12Z3 rectifier then provided the B+ voltage and a resistive part of the cord reduced the AC voltage to 32 volts for the tube filaments
