Valve Voltmeter and Component Bridge.

Uses a separate electronic probe fitted with D77 or 6AL5, which may be missing on collected examples (dual diode). The 6SN7 is a dual triode used as bridge amplfier for the moving coil meter. 50Hz or 60Hz supply. Some UK Home market variants are 190V to 260V 50Hz only and may use a series "bathtub" capacitor "dropper" on mains input.. Consumption about 17W. Metal Rectifier for HT.

Easily transportable rectangular metal cabinet with handle on side. Must be used with an earthed mains.

Version Identification

  1. MK I: The meter movement at the bottom of the panel and the switches above and used two EF50 pentodes (c1947 to 1950). Version not marked.
  2. MKII: This version using a single 6SN7. Version not marked.
  3. There is no MkIII
  4. MK IV:  used a 12AU7 (ECC82, etc). Marked as Mk IV,

  • Dials 3.5V 0.3A x 2 (currently available 3.5A 0.2A will work)

  • DC Volts 11 M Ohms input impedance: 250mV to 1000V F.S.D. in 8 ranges
  • DC Volts using x10 external multiplier: 110 M Ohms input impedance 2.5V to 10kV F.S.D. in 8 ranges
  • AC Volts internal probe:  1V to 250V F.S.D. in 6 ranges (low frequency only)
  • AC Volts external probe:  1V to 250V F.S.D. in 6 ranges (limited at higher  frequencies) 20KHz to 200MHz, below 100V above 50MHz.
  • AC Volts, High potential lead in x10 socket,  internal probe:  10V to 2500V F.S.D. in 6 ranges (low frequency only)
  • DC current, 250mV drop  : 25uA to 1A F.S.D. in 8 ranges
  • dB rel 50mW: 50mW or 5W. Internal Load 5, 10, 25, 200, 600 or 5000 Ohms. -10dB to +10dB
  • AC power: 500mW or 5W. F.S.D. Internal Load 5, 10, 25, 200, 600 or 5000 Ohms.
  • Capacitance:  100pF to 500nF OR 10nF to 50uF  (Bridge) 10V RMS max applied. (two ranges)
  • Resistance: 0.2 to 1000, 20 to 100K or 2K to 10M  (bridge), maximum 0.25V applied. (3 ranges)
  • Megaohms: 0.1 M  to 1000 M Ohms, 2.5V maximum voltage applied, not a Leakage test, though called "insulation" in manual.
