  • A battery operated portable AM/FM radio covering MW (187 - 570 metres), LW (1070 - 1900 metres) and VHF (87.5 - 100 MHz). It also has a push button pre-set to the BBC1 station at 247 metres MW. It is housed in a teak cabinet with chrome trim.

    A similar model, the VTR172C, was specially built for the "British Wireless for the Blind Fund" organisation with a non-tilt telescopic aerial with a smooth plastic moulding on the tip.

    Socket for earphone, external loudspeaker or tape recorder. PP9 battery.  Elliptical loudspeaker 6 x 4 inch.
