  • Annotazioni
  • The L 230 is a precision unipivot moving‑coil galvanometer by the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Co., using the single‑pivot suspension system originally invented by Robert W. Paul in 1903. Paul’s unipivot design became one of the most influential galvanometer movements of the early 20th century, valued for its extremely low friction, high sensitivity and excellent stability.
After Paul’s firm amalgamated with Cambridge in 1919, the company continued producing his unipivot instruments under the Cambridge name. The L 230 model provides a 0–120 µA range with a 1000‑ohm coil, intended for laboratory, calibration and microampere‑level measurement work. Housed in a wooden case with a mirrored scale and fine pointer, it represents the continuation of Paul’s precision instrument tradition within the Cambridge product line.
