  • Model: FET DIP Oscillator G3WPO Mk2 - Cirkit dist.Ltd. Ambit;
  • Dimensions (WHD)
  • 58 x 92 x 125 mm / 2.3 x 3.6 x 4.9 inch
  • Notes
  • DIP oscillator and Wave meter

    Wavebands from 1.8MHz to 170MHz
    Sensitivity control varies drive from peak rectifier diodes to meter rather than oscillator level
    Oscillator drive level set by resistor on the plug-in coil via 2nd gates of 3SK88 FETs Audible tone volume controlled by detected level (piezo-ceramic beeper)
    You can add your own coils. A common modificaton is an FET buffer (2N3819 or similar) to drive a frequency counter.
    More sensitive Wavemeter and "Dip" than MkI
    Labelled "Made in England by Cirkit", (the MkI in 1981 is "Ambit" branded and has no resistor on the plug in coils to set Oscillator level, so coils are not exchangeable)
    See Articles for operation and use.
    Designs of both versions published in Radcom (RSGB) by G3WPO
