  • Notes
  • The Crescent M-2000 Series and M-3000 Series Wire Recorder made by Crescent Industries, Inc., Chicago, are a combination record player and magnetic recorder-reproducer. The only difference in the M-2000 (flocked turntable) and M-3000 Series (removable turntable) is in the use of turntables. The standard spool gives approximately an hour of continuous recording.

For schematics and pictures see M-2000 Serie and M-3000 Series which have the following brakdown of models:
    M-2000A1 / M-3000A1 (A = generally 117 volts 60 cycles), M-2000B1 / M-3000B1 (B = 117 volts 50 cycles), M-2000E1 / M-3000E1 (E = 220 volts, 60 cycles), M-2000F1 / M-3000F1 (F = 220 volts, 50 cycles). M-2000A2 / M-3000A2 (2 is indicating the addition of the tone arm assembly and parts), M-2000B2 / M-3000B2, M-2000E2 / M-3000E2 and M2000F2 / M-3000F2. 2001 and 3001 is indicating reversing gear assemply WR71. Thus resulting in the following models in the same scheme than above: M-2001A1, M-2001B1, M-2001E1, M-2001F1, M-2001A2, M-2001B2, M-2001E2, M2001F2 and M-3001A1, M-3001B1, M-3001E1, M-3001F1, M-3001A2, M-3001B2, M-3001E2, M-3001F2. M-2500 and M-3500 is the same as M-2000 and M-3000 but with program register added, thus resulting in models: M-2500A1, M-2500B1, M-2500E1, M-2500F1, M-3500A1, M-3500B1, M-3500E1, M-3500F1. Again these models exist also with tone arm assembly added as models: M-2500A2, M-2500B2, M-2500E2, M-2500F2, M-3500A2, M-3500B2, M-3500E2, M-3500F2. In total there are 48 different models.
