  • Notes
  • For the Viking 43-86X the schematic shows two different chassis, one for 25 (chassis 1TC52-E) and the other for 60 cycles (Z1TC52-E). Otherwise they are the same, having a broadcast tuning range of 535 to 1650 kc, short wave tuning for 5.8 to 16.5 mc. Power output 1.2 watts, power consumption 70 watts. See also the same Kitchener models (Phonola Co.) 60 cycles and also 1TC52-E for 25 cycles.

The set is equipped with a built-in wire antenna but for better reception an antenna of 50 to 75 ft is is recommended. The heaters of the tubes are on the primary side of the transformer! The type number is for 1943 models, made in 1942 and it seems that in Canada such sets were possible also after Spring 1942 when the USA allowed only war products to be manufactured by the radio manufacturers. But it may also be that the sets were produced only in 1945 ... We need more information on this.
