- Notes
-
Standard Edison Model A phonograph (1901-1903) was modified later to play 4-minute Amberol cylinders (1908-1912), and also carries the repeater device of the International Correspondence School language teaching equipment. This device works like the return key on a typewriter, lifting the supporting arm from the cylinder and bringing it back a few grooves, to repeat a difficult word or passage. Equipped instead of the usual horn, with a tube that divides into two earphones for independent listening.
