Dies Modell aus dem Jahr 1878 besitz nur einen Adapter, der sowohl für Aufnahme als auch Wiedergabe verwendet wurde. Zur Tonwiedergabe wurde auf den Aufnahmekopf ein Schalltrichter aufgesetzt und mit der Hand festgehalten.
Am Aufnahmekopf sitzt eine Membran, an der eine stumpfe Nadel befestigt ist. Mit der Nadel werden die von der Membran übertragenen Schallwellen in die Zinnfolie auf der Walze eingraviert. Hierzu muss die Walze per Handkurbel gedreht werden. Beim Abspielen wird die Nadel an den Anfang der eingravierten Rille gesetzt und die aufgesprochene Tonspur als Schallwelle reproduziert.

This model from 1878 has only one adapter, which was used for both recording and playback. For sound reproduction, a bell was placed on the recording head and held by hand.
The recording head has a membrane with a blunt needle attached to it. The needle is used to engrave the sound waves transmitted by the membrane into the tin foil on the drum. To do this, the roller must be turned by hand crank. During playback, the needle is placed at the beginning of the engraved groove and the recorded sound track is reproduced as a sound wave.
