  • Notes
  • How to distinguish early and later variant from each other:
This late model has provision to connect external aerial and earth at top left of the back plate. No round holes visible on the back. The front displays 4 screw heads to fix the chassis (not visible at the early model as the original Dry Portables used 4 wood screws into wooden blocks attached to the side of the case). The dial pointer is rotating in same direction as the tuning knob does.

Due to tube shortage during WW2 this model was equipped with US tubes, which replaced the initial types (see early model). The frame aerial is now attached inside of the the case. The scale pointer rotates now in the same direction as the tuning knob by addition of a drive cord. Initially it was reverse action as it was a simple direct friction drive.
