Originally described as "Unit Cell" batteries.
A Cylindrical Zinc Carbon "R10" size, two are used in the No. 8 Bijou or "Duplex" pack. Don't confuse U8 with No. 8 pack which is 2 x U8. A Zinc Chloride version still available (2012), maker unknown. Some pre 1939 HT packs might have used it.
