  • Notes
  • The Red Jacket Type RDA-2 was basically a repackaged Federal Telephone Type 57. Most of the parts in the RDA-2 can be found in the Federal Telephone and Telegraph Co. Type 57 receiver. The circuit is identical to the 57. The RF transformer is the typical Federal with a tubular housing and clip-in mopuntings. The audio transformers and tube sockets are also Federal of Buffalo. What connection there was between the two companies remains a mystery other than ther wester New York locations.
The name Red Jacket is significant in central and western New York, having been the name of a renowned Seneca chief about the time of the American Revolution.
