  • The General Electric 143 is a 4 tube AC/DC/Battery operated portable BC band receiver.  The BC band frequency tuning range is 540 to 1600kHz.  Has Selenium Rectifier and built-in loop antenna.  The power plug must be inserted into the socket on the chassis in order to operate the radio from the batteries. Battery used was Eveready No. 756 (or equivalent) which provided 90V and 7.5V.  Model 141 uses similar cabinet but operates from batteries only.
