This new pick-up has a sapphire or diamond stylus that is incredibly small and stiff, less than 1/16th in length and having an included angle of 50° with a tip radius of 0.003 in. This form represents the maximum possible stiffness.
The dynamic mass of the stylus is 8 by 10-3 gm, and it is mounted vertically.
Only between 3/4 oz. and 1 1/4 oz. pressure is required to track satisfactorily.
The pick-up is less than 1 3/4 in. long by 3/4 in. wide.
