he GME Electrophone TX472 series is a mobile UHF CB transceiver manufactured in Japan during the early era of 40‑channel UHF CB adoption. Designed for in‑vehicle use, the TX472 reflects GME’s characteristic emphasis on rugged construction, clear audio, and straightforward operation. The model was sold in several variants, with the TX472S regarded as the higher‑spec version within the series.
The transceiver operates on the Australian 40‑channel UHF CB band (476–477 MHz) and provides the standard 5 W FM output permitted under local regulations. Its feature set includes channel scanning, repeater support on channels 1–8, and a front‑facing loudspeaker for improved in‑cabin intelligibility.
