  • Notes
  • 4501G, 4-valve Superhet for AC or DC Mains Incorporating a Mains Filter for 22 guineas,

The circuit of this instrument is much more ambitious than the number of valves used, and the price might lead one to suppose.

Westectors are used for sound detection and the provision of AVC bias, which is arranged on original lines. The control panel includes a visual tuning indicator. Both volume and tone controls are operative of radio and gramophone reproduction, the tone control is operated by a three-position switch.

The permanently installed anti-interference unit in series with the mains is an unexpected refinement in a set giving such good value for money in other directions.

The equivalent model 4501GA with Garrard automatic record changer costs 33 guineas
