  • The Hallicrafters model Continental 5R30 is most similar to 5R30A. Normally you would expect that the tuning knob is near the scale in such an arrangement and would be the main knob, but here the upper center knob in red is the volume and on/off. The lower knob left is for tuning and the right is the band selector BC/SW. Interesting to see is also the label with a fixed 5R3 for the chassis and then a different extension stamp. External Antenna is required for reception on both bands.
