  • Notes
  • The R-42's steel cabinet was designed to use the bass reflex principle to provide high quality audio from 70 to 7500 cycles.  It employs a crossover network to switch between "Communications" (voice) and "High Fidelity" (full audio range of speaker). While the R-42 was intended to be used with Hallicrafters FM broadcast capable receivers (specifically the SX-42, SX-62, and S-47), it could be used with any receiver or audio amplifier with an output impedance of 500/600 ohms.
