2-Way Ultra-Efficient System Kit AS-1039

We've designed this highly efficient bookshelf system to bring out the best in low power amplifiers. Just five watts is enough to drive the new Heathkit AS-1039 at a booming volume. The system uses an 8-in. woofer in vented bass-reflex enclosure and an exponential rectangular horn tweeter with its own level control knob mounted on the back panel. Magnets are 10 ounces for the woofer and 1.47 ounces on the tweeter. Frequency response is 70 to 15,000 Hz with crossover at 3,500 Hz. The AS-1039 has a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and can handle up to 25 watts of music power.

The one-piece cabinet with removable grille cloth board provides a solid vibration-free housing while also simplifying kit building. You simply build and install the crossover circuit then front-mount both speakers. The grille-cloth board is snugly held in place with zip-strip fasteners. All cabinetry comes fully assembled and finished. The enclosure is clad in a rich-looking walnut toned vinyl, while the grille cloth is done in a dark green, brown and gold tweed. Measures 21½" H x 12" W x 10½" D. Order two for stereo. You can build them both in an evening.
