The Heathkit PM-1 Power Meter is designed to sample the RF field in the vicinity of your transmitter; marine, mobile or fixed. Operates with any transmitter having output frequencies between 100 kHz and 250 MHz, regardless of power. Sensitivity is 0.3 volts RMS full scale and a special control on the panel allows further adjustment of sensitivity. The meter is a 200 microampere unit, mounted on a chrome-plated brass panel. Shipping weight 2 lbs.
(The notes were adapted from the 1958 Heathkit catalog. The unit is more correctly termed a field-strength meter. The device uses a germanium diode.) See also the later PM-2. The schematic for the PM-2 applies to the PM-1.
