You too can afford theater quality sound at home with our kit Dolby Surround Sound processor. Unlike other decoders in this price range, this unit provides six outputs of audio information – that's 40 percent more than the competition!
The Heath AD-2550 includes left front, center, right front, sub-woofer and two surround outputs. Our surround processor also has two stereo inputs, allowing you to connect your favorite audio source.
With a push of a button you can select between three different surround modes. There's Dolby Surround for listening to Dolby Stereo encoded programs, Music Surround for reproducing the depth lost in conventional 2-channel stereo playback, and Mono Enhance for synthesized stereo and surround effects. Plus, we've designed the unit with separate controls for audio time delay, null, surround volume and master volume.
You won't need a separate amplifier to drive your surround channels, because this unit has its own 20-watt built-in amp. We recommend your surround sound speakers have an 8-16 ohm impedance and a power handling rating of at least 20 watts.
    Other features include one-step adjustment, automatic Dolby B noise reduction, and an all-metal cabinet for reliability and durability. 2 3/4" H x 17" W x 8 1/2" D.
