  • Notes
  • The Hewlett-Packard Model 5345A Electronic Counter is a reciprocal counter capable of direct measurements to 500 MHz. The counter's ability to accept plug-in accessories extends its inherent capabilities and provides for a variety of additional measurements.
The instrument measures frequency, period, period average, single-shot time interval, time interval average, and ratio. It also provides a totalize function, whereby two signals can be simultaneously totalized with the displayed result being the sum or difference in the total number of counts. Using the 5245 series of plug-ins (with 10590A Adapter) extends the frequency rage to 18 GHz and adds other features, such as DVM capability.

    Input channels A and B Range: 0 to 500 MHz DC-coupled 50 Ohm and 1 MOhm
Impedance: Selectable, 1 MOhm shunted by less than 30 pF or 50 Ohm (nominal)
Sensitivity: X1, 10 mV rms sine wave and 30 mV peak-to-peak pulse. X20, 200 mV rms
    Dynamic range: 30 dB
    Time Base:
Standard Time Base: Crystal Frequency, 10 MHz
    Stability: Aging rate < 3 x 10e-7 per month, short term < 2 x 10e-9 rms for 1 sec
Optional 001 Time Base: Crystal Frequency, 10 MHz (HP 10544A)
    Stability: Aging rate < 5 x 10e-10 per day, short term < 1 x 10e-11 for 1 sec average
    Temperature: < 3 x 10e-9; 0°C to 55°C
Display: 11 digit LED display and sign. Annunciator displays ksec to nsec, k to n, µHz to GHz. Decimal point is positioned with DISPLAY POSITION control or positioned after the first, second, or third most significant digit if DISPLAY POSITION is in AUTO. Leading zeros are suppressed.
