  • Notes
  • The solid-state HP model 651B Test Oscillator provides accurate, stable test signals for laboratory or production measurements. This instrument covers a wide frequency range from 10 Hz to 10 MHz continuously variable across 6 bands.

    Two output impedances  are available from the front panel, providing 200 mW into 50 Ω
    or 16 mW into 600 Ω. This capacitance-tuned oscillator  delivers a flat output throughout the entire frequency range. Once warmed up, and in a normal lab environment where the ambient temperature is relatively constant, the frequency stability at 5 MHz is typically +/- 10 ppm.

    Attenuator: range 90 dB in 10 dB steps, overall accuracy +/- 0.1 dB
    Distortion: < 1%, 10 Hz to 5 MHz; < 2% at 10 MHz.
    Frequency response: flat within +/- 2%, 100 Hz to 1 MHz; +/- 3%, 10 Hz to 100 Hz;
    +/- 4%, 4 MHz to 10 MHz.
