  • Notes
  • HP Model 8405A Vector Voltmeter measures amplitudes and phase simultaneously. Instrument has frequency range of 1 MHz to 1 GHz, sensitivity of 100 µV full scale, dynamic range of 95 dB, phase resolution of 0.1°, and is simple to operate. Thus it makes feasible many measurements which formerly were difficult or impossible.

The two probes are ac-coupled and permanently attached to the instrument with 5-foot cables. Loading of the system under test is minimized by the high input impedance of the probes (0.1 megohm shunted by 2.5 pF; with divider, 1 megohm shunted by 2 pF).
