    Jonell was a brand for the John Lewis department store in the late 1940s and into the 1950s. This set was sold under the brand name of Jonell for  hire purchase or retail sale. The internal layout is similar to the A50 model but has a different AC transformer, possibly for heaters, dial face and cabinet.  See also the U50 AC/DC version with no mains transformer.
