  • The Lafayette model 266-A amplifier is the finest and most powerful six-volt amplifier available today. The usable power output of 30 watt; represents the maximum obtainable in six-volt-operated units; in order to obtain greater output than that afforded by this amplifier, it would be necessary to use a gas-engine-driven generator to operate an a.c. amplifier efficiently. The uses to which the amplifier can be put are many and varied. Although primarily designed for mobile sound-truck operation from six-volt battery, it can be instantly converted for use on 110-volt. 50/60-cycle a.c. by simply connecting the a.c. power pack. When used with suitable associated equipment (see system listed below), high-power and high-quality system can be assembled. Suggested applications include installation in ballyhoo trucks (especially political speeches), auditoriums (110-volt a.c.), and many others.
