  • Notes
  • The Rider's schematic 10-8 has been drawn Sept. 26, 1935 and shows the same schematic for M-41 (Dual-Wave) and M-43 (Trio-Wave). In fact it is also for M-39, M-40, M-42, M-55, M-56, M-61 and M-62 as Dual-Wave and the following Trio-Wave models: M-57, M-58, M43, M-44, M45 and M-46. This family uses 3 tuned IF filters. Oscillator is the tube 56. The 55 is the diode detector incl. for AVC. Four different bands are reached by rotary band switching: BC 194 - 555 m, 72.4 - 216 m, 32.3 - 96.2 m and 12 to 33 m for the "Dual-Wave" models and 12 to 2000 m for "Trio-Wave" models. Tone control, calibrated 2-speed dial, push-pull output. Sensivity is better than 2.5 microvolts per meter with 10 kc selectivity. For "Trio-Wave" the catalog states: "with sensitivity less than 1 micro-volt per meter" but that is probably only on long waves. But the catalog shows also other tubes for the M-43 Trio-Wave and the other "Trio-Wave" models: 3 x 58, 2 x 57, 56, 47 and 80 instead of 56 58 58 58 55 47 47 80 given on the Rider's schematic. For addl. $ 3.75 the chassis came with dual speaker instead of one. The catalog writes about 25-60 cycles but for most of them 25-40 and we believe 60 is a typo.
