  • The Lightrite Flivver crystal set has an aluminum case and is unpainted in most surviving sets, but brown painted cases are not uncommon. 

    The Lightrite Co. (Bloomfield NJ) probably preceded the Moore Mfg. Co. (Bloomfield, later, Nutley NJ) in the manufacture of this set; each company used its own label.  See here for the Moore Crystal Set version of this set. 

    The Flivver and Moore are alike except for the slide-tuner knob (metal on the Flivver, black wood on the Moore) and the enameled wire wound on the tuning coil (tarnished brass color on the Flivver; red on the Moore).
