  • This is a single frequency receiver with frequency set by crystal.  The radio pictured was used by the Texas Forest Service on 2226KHz.  There is a 500 ohm output that may have been used to activate tone sensitive indicators on a map.  Tone signals may have been sent from fire observation towers to a central facitlity where this radio was located.
