  • Notes
  • Before analogue telephone services were replaced by IP telephony, many domestic subscribers obtained internet access via ADSL modems operating on frequencies well above the voice band of 300 - 3400 Hz. For an analogue home installation, ADSL devices can be connected directly to each telephone socket provided a low-pass filter is inserted between each telephone and the telephone socket to avoid mutual interference with the high-frequency ADSL signals (which are typically above 25 kHz).

The MB-4090 adapter with integrated filter is designed to plug directly into a TT83 telephone socket, allowing analogue telephones and ADSL devices to be operated from the socket simultaneously. In modern installations, TT83 sockets are replaced by RJ45 ones.

    Wall socket connector: TT83.
    Telephone socket: 1 x A6.
    ADSL jack: 1 x RJ11.

    Passive design. (No transistors)
6 toroidal ferrite-cored inductors, 3 in series in each line. The three different chokes ensure that the impedance remains high over a broad band of frequencies, in spite of self resonances in any one of them.
    1 22 nF bypass capacitor.
    2 22 ohm series resistors.
DC continuity to telephone socket for local loop current.
    Continuity for low-frequency ring signal.
    Internal 2A 250v fuse.

    Made in Taiwan.
