  • Notes
  • This Earth Tester was sold in the United States by James G. Biddle Co. of Pennsylvania under license by Megger Group Limited. It measures ground resistance using a hand-cranked oscillator with four resistance ranges adjustable from 0.01 to 9990.00 Ohms. It measures the ground resistance by applying a test current through an earth electrode under test which returns through the soil and a remote terminal. The potential between the earth electrode and a remote terminal potential is observed and balanced against an equal potential in the Earth Tester. When a null condition is achieved, a read out in ohms is displayed on a meter which, under proper test procedures, is the earth electrode resistance.
