FROM THE 1920 Duck advertisement: The R W 3 came complete with the RBD8 detector circuit, an with adjustable disc core equipment and four extra coupler terminals for damped wave reception. It was equipped with Marconi V.T. bulb socket only. (bulb $7.00 extra)
These RW types (latest Mignon invention) embrace a new field in Radio Engineering. These late type introduce adjustable special metal disc cores, heretofore considered absolutely impossible. These new undamped wave receivers are the most efficient apparatus constructed at the present time. The circuits are new. The most important features are the rigid Triple Coils and the relative position of same. All Arc Stations, including European, come in sharp and clear, and will positively not be affected by the nearness of the operator's hand or body. The tuning is surprisingly simple and any child will learn to bring in signals with extreme ease. The R W 1 and R W 2 can be operated in conjunction with "RBD8" only. These cabinets are especially equipped for the Mignon Undamped Wave Circuit. If the reception of damped waves is desired, any type coupler can be connected. (Diagram for connection with each set) The connection of coupler does not interfere with the reception of undamped waves.
