  • Notes
  • The Airline GEN-1235A is a battery operated 6 transistor portable AM radio. The AM band tuning range is 540 to 1640kHz.  Uses Qty(4) 1.5V C type batteries.

The SAMS Photofact index lists this radio as being in Set 547, Folder 3 (Dated 9-61).  The actual folder lists only models GEN-1206A and GEN1207A, however photographs of the chassis in folder 3 look exactly like photos of the actual GEN-1235A chassis and so it can be assumed that the chassis is the same and just the cabinet is different.

Even though the radio is labeled as an 8 transistor radio, it actually has only 6 transistors but also has 2 diodes. Thus the radio is labeled as an 8 transistor radio for marketing reasons.
