  • Notes
  • Australian printed‑circuit implementation of the Mullard Stereo “Ten‑Ten” 10‑watt‑per‑channel amplifier design. Mullard Australia acted only as the design source; it did not manufacture kits or finished amplifiers. Local Australian suppliers produced their own PCB sets, chassis and kits based on this circuit. Those manufactured versions should be listed under their respective makers and linked to this design entry.

    Technical Description
The amplifier follows the standard Mullard 10‑10 topology:

    • Output stage — Push‑pull 6GW8 pair per channel
    • Voltage amplifier & phase splitter — ECC83 per channel
    • Global negative feedback — approx. 20 dB from the output transformer secondary to the input‑stage cathode
    • Tone control network — Mullard passive bass/treble circuit with ±12 dB (bass) and +10/–16 dB (treble) range
    • Performance — Flat within ±3 dB from 3 Hz to 60 kHz; <0.1% THD at 10 W; hum/noise approx. 70 dB below 10 W

The Australian PCB version retains these electrical characteristics but differs in mechanical layout, component placement, and wiring routes, reflecting local PCB artwork rather than the UK point‑to‑point construction.

    Power & Transformer Data
(Values from the Mullard reference design, used in Australian PCB implementations unless otherwise noted.)

    • Heaters: 6.3 V at 3.2 A
    • HT: 320 V at 138 mA (no signal); 315 V at 160 mA (10 W sine)
    • Output transformer:
      • Primary inductance 100 H
      • Primary resistance 265 Ω per half
      • Leakage inductance 21 mH
      • Secondary resistance 0.9 Ω (15‑Ω tap)
      • Damping factor approx. 10.7

    Construction Notes (Australian Version)

    • Produced as kits or PCB sets by Australian suppliers; not sold by Mullard Australia.
    • PCB layout differs from the UK magazine version but follows the same circuit.
    • Often supplied with Australian‑sourced transformers, hardware, and chassis.
    • Electrical performance remains consistent with the Mullard reference design.
