I have an A48 in my collection that was superbly restored by Trevor Joyes.  Given that it is a relatively ordinary 5 valve set the performance is excellent, particularly on the short wave band.  A good aerial makes it all the better.  The internally illuminated rotating station display drum is wonderful!
