  • The Micro‑Perophone was introduced in late 1926 as a refined cabinet gramophone designed for the reproduction of the new electrical recordings. Advertised as possessing “solidity of tone equally distributed throughout its compass,” it aimed to deliver a stereoscopic effect and tonal analysis “as clearly cut as a cameo.” The instrument was marketed to dealers seeking a moderately priced yet musically accurate model for discerning clientele

    Remarks

    The Micro‑Perophone series represents one of the last finely engineered acoustic cabinet designs from Perophone Ltd. before the company’s later collaboration with Micro‑Perophone & Chromogram Ltd. in the 1929–1930 period. Surviving examples are rare and valued for their distinctive amplifier and soundbox design.
